Aloha!
Hoping this group may have some advice for me about a meyer lemon tree.

Situation: It was a great producer! Tree is about 12 years old, about 8
feet high (before pruning). Grows in sunny Kalama valley on Oahu.

It had sooty mold. Then started dropping leaves. So, in May we cut it back
to the main branches, removing all the leaf-bearing branches. I fertilized
it (generic box of some local-brand of citrus food), watered it well about
once a week, and in time it busted out all over with healthy green shoots!
Hooray. Vigorous rowth ensued. Then, the shoots (some as long as 24")
began to go "floppy", as if it was not getting enough water (but it was).

This has gone on for a few weeks. The shoots have stopped growing, yet
remain floppy and green. The leaves do not drop, but they are not healthy,
not shiny. The smaller shoots seem to have gone black at the ends, as if
burned.

There are no visible parasites or anys on the tree. The leaves show no
signs of being eaten or having nematodes or anything. Nothing in its
eco-system changed otherwise.

Any ideas to help this once-boutiful tree?
