Greetings all,

I am in the market for an LCD TV, and in fact I am considering
something like the 40inch Samsung LN-T4065F. I read somewhere that
inasmuch as lcd backlights might wear out over time, it is advisable
to purchase a model that allows the user to replace the backlight if
and when it becomes necessary.

Since I don't know much about LCD's yet, I am wondering if anyone
knows whether the Samsung LN-T4065F backlight is replaceable, and...in
general...do replaced backlights (if installed correctly) work as well
as the factory originals, or do replacement backlights tend to produce
disappointing results?

Any info re lcd backlights and replacement issues is much appreciated!

Thanks!

Chuck

kyocera and sharp are two with replaceable, but you still might need a
tech
to replace them.

Some Samsung (and others) LCD sets now have LED backlights which may
never need replacing. Plus, the displayed color space is greater than
most bulb-type sets.
