Another "old components" question...

I have an old Sanyo AVM2752 TV set from about 1992 or so (stop laughing...
I keep waiting for the HDTV revolution to get down to the consumer level
and push prices down to affordability).

Anyway, as you can imagine the settings have drifted astray in the last
ten years. Unfortunately, the original remote is long gone, and I can't
push the all-important "setup" button to get to the setup menu and adjust
colors, brightness, etc--and no universal remote I've found comes
preprogrammed with the "setup" button (all the OTHER buttons, sure...
grump). This is quite frustrating (particularly the
brightness... "black" is something of a medium grey at this point!).

A new remote will cost about $50, which is a bit silly on the face of it
given the age of the set. But I'm hoping that Sanyo or another vendor may
have kept the IR code the same from older sets to newer ones so that I can
blatantly copy the code with a learning remote. And I'm too much of a
cheap bastard to buy a new set until I can get a nice HDTV set at a pretty
low cost, which will be a few more years, I'm guessing.

Any suggestions on how to find which other remotes may be compatible?

thanks-->VPutz
