Hi,
I am in a process of building up a HT. I bought a Denon 1803 last week
and I am finding it difficult to find good matching speakers for this
set up. I have a JVC DVD, Sony TV. Please advise me as to what
speakers would be a best set-up. I am inetersted in floor-standing for
main speakers. My budget is around 1500$ for the whole set. I am
looking into JBL ND310 or PSB Image 4T but am not sure if there are
any other better than these. I wanna listen about Kef..
also are there any other better ones? Please advise me..
Thanx in advance

I have Monitor Audio Bronze speakers with Denon 1803. They are good in
this combination.

Zed,
With the Denon and fifteen hundred bucks you could even look into
Planer-Magnetic like the Magnepan MMG's. The Denon should be able to
drive the four Ohm load. Here's the link;
http://www.magnepan.com/
I use six of them for movies and music with my Yamaha 3000. Just go to
the speaker gallery and check out the MMG's. They still sell them at
just five-fifty a pair, one of audios best known steals
All the best, Mike |

Mike,
Thanx for your response..but I've read in a lotta places that driving
denon with 4 ohm speakers could cook the receiver..even the dealer
from whom I bought said the same..the minimum safe bet is hooking up 6
ohm speakers..thats what been said even in the denon manual..do
magnepan make 6 ohm ...I'l check it out anyways..

Both the KEF and the PSB are good choices. Tannoy is also very good. I
would limit my selection to those that you have there locally and
choose what best suits your tastes. You will end up with a very good
system from any of those choices without any headaches,
disappointments or surprises.

I use an old set of floor standing Kef Concertos with my 1803. Sounds good.
