I have just got a Panasonic AE300 projector, and have seen a few posts
regarding calibrations.

There seem to be a few different DVD's available that have test patterns etc
to allow you to calibrate/optimise your projector at home.

Does anyone have any recommendations regarding which one considered the
best?

Thanks,

Tom

I like Avia - good user interface and excellent set of tests.

BTW - nice projector - that is what I have (PT-L300u). You will also want

There is alot of tweaking and hints there.

I have an unopened copy of Video Essential that I would like to trade for
the Avia DVD. Does anyone have one to trade?

Use any of them; any one you can find. However, NONE of them will "optimize"
your color settings, because that's so subjective. They will assist you in
establishing approximately where you should be with respect to contrast and
reds, etc. Your colors, whites, and blacks will only become "optimal", when
you spot that shirt or jacket, you have hanging in your closet, on a
character in a movie. For example, a whole lot of people have clothing
similar to those worn by the characters in "Fargo" (which is a good
transfer).
