Can someone help me? I can't for the life of me get the display menu
from my new Denon AVR-4802R to show on my TV monitor, so I can program
it. The instructions are very confusing, and it's hard to figure out the
correct outlet to use from my Sony Wega monitor to the video/monitor
jacks in the Denon receiver, in order to see the menu display on the
screen.

I appreciate any help, I was up part of the night trying to figure this
out.

You have to use the monitor output and not the component output. It can be
either s-video or composite.

I'm not sure about your Denon, but on my Yamaha,
the component outputs don't carry the on screen
information. You have to use an RCA output.

I wouldn't call that being clueless - how would you have known this? You
can easily make the assumption that if the receiver has component video
switching and an OSD, that it would work with the component output, but this
is not the case with just about all receivers/processors.
