Hi, I just bought a new Samsung TXN2670WHF widescreen HD tv set.
One thing that I'm wondering about, in regards to my new tv set, is
the fluctuating black bars on 2.35:1 movies.
I've put a piece of paper up to the screen and as the camera shots
change, from scene to scene, the black bars rise and dip anywhere from
1-3 millimeters. This dip is most noticeable from dark to very bright
scene jumps. That's where you get the 3 millimeter variation.
In normal viewing this is pretty easy to dismiss, I must admit, but I
do wonder if this is an innate design flaw.
I've never had a widescreen, or flatscreen tv before so maybe this is
normal?
I have tested all the inputs, used several dvd/laserdisc players, and
have the tv calibrated to Avia.
The picture is very colorful and beautiful, so if this is normal, I
will learn to live with it!
I'd love to hear from other Samsung HD widescreen direct-view owners
and see if they have noticed the same effect!
Kevin
