I like to listen to music while watching TV with closed caption turned
on. Last night the CC was almost unreadable - badly garbled. I turned
my sat receiver off and then back on and the CC was back to normal. Any
idea what happened?

Don't know what this has to do with HT, but maybe the CC typist was
drunk?

I have a Sony Directv rcvr. and on occassion the guide gets all colorful and
contrasty. When I called Directv the guy told me to unplug and replug the
rcvr. It worked.
He claimed the capacitors held excess juice and needed to drain. Not sure if
this is the real reason, but it works.
Good luck, David

Pure BS. But the reset is much like rebooting a computer that has gotten
corrupted. It puts everything back to a known state. No problem if these
things don't happen often. Otherwise either case needs updated or fixed.
