Hello I thought it would be easy but so far not luck. I got a cheap
5.1 surround sound system yesterday and i think some of the speakers
are not working well. Does anyone know of a vcd/dvd format iso image
for testing 5.1. surround sound speakers. I found a wma file but i
don't think my dvd player will play it. thanks.

The Creative software the came with my Audigy2 does "left
speaker"......."center speaker"........ "right speaker"........etc. Great
for seeing if the speaker works. Would imagine most sound cards have this.
Getting surround sound is another matter.

I believe the THX Optimizer has 5.1 tests. It is included on some DVD
titles. There is a search box here, plus a link to the entire list:

If I remember correctly, "Terminator, Judgment Day" has a THX routine
in the setup menu.

hey Joe,
I'm having probably the similar issue with rear speaker of my home
theatre system. I ran the sound check provided by the system itself
and all of the speakers seem to be working just fine but when I play
any CD, rear speakers does not seem to work. ne idea???

Sounds to me, like u might need to set it up to play cd using all
speakers. By default is likely to play only with front speakers. In my
computer it works different than it does on my coby surround dvd
player. My computer has eax options under the sounblaster config
program.
