5.1 Surround Suggestions

Hello Again.

After all the helpful advice I received regarding my quest for analog
television, I feel that this is the best place to ask about surround
sound. The problem is, I know absolutely nothing about audio. Actually
I lie, I know Japan cannot make decent speakers (so I am told).

Anyway, I have decided on the following equipment for my Laserdisc
setup:

- Pioneer HLD-X9 Player
- Yamaha RX-V1 Receiver
- Sony 32" XBR100 Television (thanks to this group's advice)

So all that I really need to work out is what speakers to get, hence I
am here. I live in an apartment, so raw power is not what is
important, sound quality and size is. Obviously, to take advantage of
the AC-3 and DTS laserdiscs available I will require a 5.1 setup.
Other than knowing that, I am clueless so any suggestions?

Check out www.aperion.com and reviews on Cnet and other places. Very good
value and if you don't like them they pay for return postage.
