Harmony Remote Reliability Issue?

I have had a Harmony remote for 14 months. It has worked perfectly
until now, but the infra-red transmitter has just failed (just out of
the 12 month warranty). Has anyone else had a similar experience or
have I just been unlucky?

I bought mine in 2003 and it is still working.

The IR emitter failed or has bad solder connections?
The former is extremely rare, while the latter is quite common
regardless of brand.
Comes from tossing it on the couch, dropping on the floor, etc.

Either way, it's a cheap, simple fix.
