Buzzing on Plasma TV

I have about a 2 1/4 year old plasma HD, Panasonic TH-37PX50U that
has developed a buzzing sound when turned on. The sound doesn't go away
when I turn off the cable HD converter and/or the DVD player, which
leads me to think it is the TV itself and not some line noise, etc.
Should I be worried or just moderately annoyed?

disconnect the cable TV cable, completely-select DVD input
did the buzz go away? If the buzz goes away you will need a cable
ground isolation transformer.
If the buzz is still there we can walk you through the rest of
troubleshooting. This problem is common with home theater
systems (it may actually not be the TV). It is caused usually
by a groundloop.

Then you need to insert a ground lift between the cable and your
equipment (tivo). You can buy an isolator fairly cheap.
I will try to post you a link for an isolator.
you screw the cable to the isolator in, then connect the tivo
to the isolator out; non- complicated.
you can make one out of two radio shack transformers, but it might
be easiest just to order one.

a ground loop like this also causes a faint horizontal line to
drift up or down through the TV picture.

The reason this is happening is the cable company has changed some
ground connections on their system, you need to isolate your system
from cable TV ground.

The buzz went away for awhile when I disconnected the cable even
before I changed over to DVD. Don't know if this makes a difference, but
the cable is attached to the Tivo (actually it is the cable company's
equivalent) which is then attached to the TV using the RCA plugs in the
back.

Okay thanks. I was worried that it was the TV going bad, that is a load
off my mind. Now all I gotta do is get around to messin' with this. I am
assuming it won't cause any damage if I don't get it to right away.

Are HDMI inputs and outputs available? I had a ground loop problem but it
disappeared when I used HDMI cable.
