I make solid and semi solid guitar bodies, I have few tools like a
router, benchdrill, jigsaw but I dont have a decent saw of any type.
I got a beat up old 7/14" ryobi and a couple of gummy old panel
saws...

I get to choose a new saw but can only have the price of 1 decent unit
and i dont want 2 cheapies. Also I can get 1 saw past swmbo but not
two.

Which is likely to be of more use, table saw or band saw??

Yes i second Neil on this. I can cut curves, slice largish logs, cut
veneers with a M+F blade. A bandsaw tends to be a tad quieter also. I
am very pleased with my Startrite 352 which i bought second hand 20
years ago.

I go with the others on this. I have only made a solid body guitar but a
band saw is much better than a table saw for this job.
